Here are some pictures from a genuine Moroccan town on the edge of the Atlas mountains in Morocco in 2002. It is about 200km from Agadir. It is a very scenic drive from Tiznit or Agadir through the Atlas mountains.

There are many small shops where you can buy all kinds of Moroccan crafts. Although many things are old-style, you can see the power lines, satellite dishes and even the solar water heaters on the roofs of the buildings. I've read if you're in the area, you should ask about the painted rocks...? The almond trees bloom January into February.
