Minnesota Panoramic Photo

The Mill City Musuem in downtown Minneapolis is located in a remodeled mill that had lost most of the building in a huge fire. Actually, it was first destroyed by a flower dust explosion, but the most recent fire is thought to have been caused by squatters living in the old mill.

The museum is fairly large, covering a couple of floors. You could spend a couple of hours walking around, especially if you take the guided freight-elevator tour. You wind up on the top floor and get a great view of the Stone Arch Bridge, considered a Minneapolis Tourist Site.

The Mill City Museum also has a learning area for younger guests, including water power demonstrations and test baking area, a souvenir store, and a small cafeteria specializing in baked goods (no photo).
