| These pictures are from the lagoon tour at the Sian Kaan Biosphere - Nature Preserve in the southern Riviera Maya region. The first photo in the row below shows the opening in the limestone bed of a Cenote. There is a lagoon in Akumal that is smaller and geared towards snorkeling. | ||

| The tour is quite long and, as you can see, these are small boats with only bench type seating. You probably should have a healthy back. During the tour, there is one stop where you get off the boat to walk along the ocean coast. The second stop is at a "bird island", where you circle the island in the boats to see the birds. | ||
