| This page shows a large variety of pictures from the lower part of Manhattan. There is no order to the photos. They show that although there are many "low" neighborhoods downtown, there is also a section at the southern tip of the island with very tall buildings. Following the Midtown NYC Tour, we have jump about 20 blocks south that don't have much to see for tourists on vacation. Things you might want to see that I didn't photograph are the Intrepid Museum and maybe the Chelsea Piers. | ||

| I have split up the downtown walking tours into two sections. First is the more tourist related area at the southern tip of Manhattan, including South Street Seaport. The second tour is of the lower neighborhoods, including Greenwich Village. I'll appreciate it if you let me know I've put a photo from Midtown in the Downtown section, but I'm going to list some neighborhood names and please know they are approximate. You can look up some of these neighborhoods in 3 different places and get 3 different boundaries, so I give nobody the authority to be an authority on these things. | ||

| To start the walking tour of tourist-downtown, take the "4" or "6" train on the Green Line to City Hall Brooklyn Bridge. To start the walking tour of the downtown neighborhoods, take the "1" train on the Red Line to Christopher Street / Sheridan Square in western part of Greenwich Village. | ||
