You can see that there is plenty of parking at Newport Forty Steps entrance to the Cliff Walk. Somebody even shovelled off the step that says, "Forty Steps", so there are no mistakes. There is a balcony at the bottom.

You will see some of the Newport Mansions and a lot of great ocean front scenery if you take the Cliff Walk. It is a total of 3.5 miles, but some of it is not a paved walkway. The Cliff Walk also doesn't get you back to where you started. It is a single path along the shore.

One end of the Newport Cliff Walk starts just past Newport - 1st - Easton's Beach. (I've seen the beach called all three things), and you get a great view back of that scenery. Taking the Cliff Walk on the paved section is something you can do in almost any weather.
