| The St. John landscape was green, blue, and hilly. There are lots of hills packed into a small island. I think a good way to start a vacation to this island would be to take a tour from a taxi in Cruz Bay. I'm pretty sure there is only one taxi stand on the island, so don't bother shopping around. The panoramic photo at the top is from the north end of the island, looking out in the direction of the British Virgin Islands. | ||

| Almost every taxi is "open air", with bench-type seating. Hilly terrain + open-air taxi = Hold on to your stuff! The vehicle in the bottom row is the island bus. | ||
