PCH 1 – San Francisco

This is the first in a series of photos taken along the Pacific Coastal Highway in California. The pictures taken go from San Francisco to San Diego. There is one day here touring around the San Francisco area, then two days of driving along the coast.

I started out in the park across the Golden Gate Bridge. The photos of the city are from the northern part of San Francisco. So, if it is like in New York, this is the uptown part of the city center. The rest of the photos are from the general area of Coit Tower to Fisherman’s Warf.

You can see from the Coit Tower photos, most of the city is pretty low. There are many streets like with businesses on the first floor and apartments on the upper floors. Driving in San Francisco is not nearly as bad as New York, although the parking didn’t seem to be any easier. In addition to parallel parking, San Francisco also has perpendicular parking.
