The markets in Shigatse were not as fun to walk around as Barkhore Street in Lhasa. The shopping areas were more separated, less organized, and I noticed less police presence. In both towns, there were sections that had many outdoor pool, or billiard, tables --another indication of how dry the weather there is.

There is a photo near the top of the hotel we stayed in. It looks okay, but it doesn't seem like it was built very well. There are already stains in the exterior and the heat didn't work in our room. We tried to address the "manager" about the heat. He said he accepts blame but can do nothing except pass on our complaint to his boss, if we wrote it! Management with no power to manage...?
