Quechee Gorge Vermont
Okay, let me make sure I say it, “Vermont’s Grand Canyon”. Actually, I never heard the phrase until I stopped at the visitor’s center. It is a very impressive gorge / ravine and there is a long trail to the bottom that would take more than an hour to walk up and back at a slow pace. I wouldn’t want to try and walk up the trail in the snow. It is quite steep. There’s a great view of fall foliage from the bridge in autumn.

Quechee Gorge Park is located between Woodstock and Norwich Vermont on Route 4. The visitor’s center near the gorge has a lot of tourist information about the surrounding area. There is a souvenir and snack shop right next to Quechee Gorge (I’ve seen it as Queechee Gorge) where the tour buses stop. Other than a couple of restaurants and a hotel, there isn’t much else in the immediate area.
