Windsor Vermont's tag line is "Birthplace of Vermont" because the the state's first constitution was written here in 1777 in a local tavern (of course), which is now called "Constitution House". Windsor is a little more than a half an hour south of Hanover New Hampshire and maybe 20 mins from downtown Claremont NH, right on the Connecticut River.

There is a good sized Main Street in Windsor with gas stations, restaurants and stores. It is not as tourist-orientated as Woodstock or Ludlow, but there are some attrations in the area: Ascutney Mountain Park and Ski Slopes, the American Precision Museum, with one of the largest collections of historically significant machine tools around, the Cornish Museum right on Main Street, the Connecticut River boardering the town, and the fall foliage in autumn.
