Rockport – Coastal Town of Rocks

The first photo is of the shores of Cape Anne to give a view of the coastline. It is not in Rockport. When you see the little lighthouse in the street, then you will know you are in downtown Rockport. Sorry about the weather, I’m sure if you go to Rockport on vacation / holiday in the summer, the main streets will be crowded with people.

Rockport deserves its name because of all the rocks there. Mostly high-quality granite desired the world over at one time. They pumped out the water to mine the stuff down hundreds of feet until it became too much and was abandoned. Now they make very impressive swimming holes to say the least. It’s about a half hour northeast of Boston(?).
