This is the first page of a walking tour of Midtown Manhattan. I would estimate you could walk these tourist sites in a day if you like to walk… a half a day if you didn’t stop to do anything else. Grand Central Terminal (Station) is the final destination of many commuter line trains from New York State and Connecticut. The architecture is impressive and worth seeing at least once. It is also a great place to “people watch”, especially during rush hours.

This place has come a long way since the 70’s “PanAm Building”. I’d say it is more tourist-friendly now. If you were to come on a holiday to NYC via Amtrak train, you would come into Penn Station NYC, which is not nearly as scenic as Grand Central. You can get between them both fairly easily on the NYC Subway by using “the shuttle”, or “S” train, and the “Red line” 1 or 2 trains. To walk to the next stop on the tour, Bryant Park, from Grand Central, find the 42nd street exit and head west (take a right).
