| The top-left photo on this page shows the entrance to Ya Kul Lagoon. It is at the far end of Half-Moon Bay, past the Akumal Condos, about 2 miles (3.2 km) from Downtown Akumal. There is also a huge Riviera Maya lagoon south of Akumal that has nature and bird-watching tours. | ||

| The water looked crystal clear. There is a nice garden path to walk around and find a little shade. I would have liked to try snorkeling here, but it was my first trip to Mexico and I was too busy taking pictures of Mayan Pyramids and Tourist Hotels types of stuff. | ||
