These photos of the upper east side of NYC are mainly from Central Park South to 86th Street, where there is a subway stop for the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the Green Line. The last 3 photos are of Harlem, taken from the Metro North train. The main reasons people on a vacation / holiday would come here for are the museums on Museum Mile and its closeness to Central Park.

This page is part of a “walking” tour of uptown NYC. I think it’s important to remember that the subway map is NOT to scale. Both Midtown Manhattan and Uptown are shrunken down considerably. Being able to see a tall building you recognize from a distance is also deceiving. It is a LONG walk back to Grand Central Station. You can walk up 5th Avenue and see Central Park and some older architecture on your way to the next stop on the tour, the NYC Museums.
