Why in the world are these two places on the same page? Well, aside from the college - alcohol connection, it seems to be a very popular way to get introduced to Dublin. That is, taking a bus to Trinity college, seeing the book of Kells, and then going to the Old Jameson Distillery to see how whiskey was/is made. You get a little taste at the end and, of course, a chance to purchase it.

Trinity College it a beautiful little oasis in the middle of the city, but the Book of Kells is a bit underwhelming. You get to see one page a day, behind glass, no pictures. On the other hand, the book store that sells copies of the Book of Kells on campus has a pretty impressive collection of Ireland, Celtic history books, Irish landscape books, etc. A much better selection than you will find in any tourist store in the other cities I visited.
