3 South Street Seaport

South Street Seaport is very much set up as a tourist destination for people on vacation / holiday. There are historical exhibits about the port and the Fulton Street Market. There are mall-type stores and places to buy food and souvenirs. If you can’t make it to the Brooklyn Bridge, you can get a nice view of it from here, as well as getting out from underneath the skyscrapers to see the some of the NYC skyline.
These photos were taken 2002 – 2009.
Here is the homepage for South Street Seaport. One of the Circle Line boat rides stops here, as well as the NYC Water Taxi. To get to the next stop on the walking tour, walk out of the Seaport on Fulton Street, take a left on either Front Street or Water Street, and then a right on Wall Street. It is 4 or 5 blocks to the Stock Exchange & Federal Hall.
