Downtown Newport Scenery
Newport, Rhode Island is a town made for taking a vacation / holiday. It is very much prepared for tourists. There are a lot of ocean related activities in Newport in the summer, like the largest beach, called both Easton’s Beach and First Beach. It is the same thing. At one end of Easton’s Beach is the famous Newport Cliff Walk, which is not bad any time of year.

There are plenty of hotels and restaurants and little shops to spend your money along the main street. Souvenirs, candy, ice cream, etc. From downtown, you can take a trolley to the Newport Mansions and Salve Regina University area. There are also a couple of tourists sites towards the east that have some nice walking trails: the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge and the Norman Bird Sanctuary.
