21 – Ireland Landscapes

These are landscape photos from all over ireland. I went on a CIE tour called “Irish Gold”. CIE seems to have a semi-monopoly on the bus tours in Ireland(?). Something good about this tour was that although it was a bus tour, we stayed 2 or 3 nights each in just 3 cities. Many other tours have you switching hotels almost every day. I put links of the schedule below, but the towns I stayed in where Dublin on the east coast, and Galway and Killarney on the west side.
Day 1 Tour: Drive around in a circle through dublin streets, then do the dynamic duo of Trinity Colleg and Old Jameson Distillery. Day 2 Tour: Drive from Dublin to Killarney, seeing some of this landscape scenery and the rock of cashel (at a distance), and staying for a while at Blarney Castle. Day 3 Tour: An all-day excursion to the very scenic Dingle Peninsula. I’m told it’s similar scenery to the Ring of Kerry.
Day 4 Tour: Sightseeing trip in Killarney and at Muckross House. Day 5 Tour: Drive up the west coast to Lahinch, The Cliffs of Moher, Kilfenora, and The Burren. Day 6 Tour: Take a nice cruise around Killary Harbor and then visit Kylemore Abbey. Day 7 Tour: Free day in Galway. Day 8 Tour: Drive back to Dublin, stopping at Clonmacnoise to see high crosses and the monestary.
That is the end of the CIE Irish Gold Tour. It can change (especially hotels) at any time. I also got to stay an extra day in the Dublin area and took a bus tour that left from the bus station and visited Newgrange Ancient Mound, Monasterboice and Mellifont Abbey, and Tara Hill Ancient King Hangout.
